The Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) provides an array of funding for local community initiatives, including assistance for program-eligible households in areas such as education, employment, emergencies, housing, nutrition and health care. Community programs are intended to uplift families toward achieving self-sufficiency. CSBG programs are administered during the year by sixteen community action agencies located throughout West Virginia. (CSBG is a block grant funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.)
CSBG Information Systems Survey
The IS Report is a detailed survey of the CSBG network that describes the sources of funding, services provided, clients and communities assisted, and the results achieved.
The West Virginia's Office of Economic Opportunity collects data from each CSBG service provider to compile into a statewide database for submission to NASCSP for each program year. This information is shared with the network and other research organizations in the form of national reports, articles, and best practices.
